Plagiarism is defined as “the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own”. When reading this chapter I thought it was just going to be like how every other English teacher’s speech about plagiarism. Meaning when they said don’t just copy and paste without citations, or when they said it will be fine if you just rearrange the words. When I came to college though my mentality about plagiarism intensified because the consequences were a lot harsher compared to before in high school. For example in high school if you get caught you just ended up with a zero in the paper. In college though it’s a possibility of getting kicked out of the school completely.
So in my book, plagiarism is a definite no, no.
